    Florida Gar are back!

    Hey folks,
First, thank you to everyone that stopped by at Global Pet Expo last week!  You got to be among the first in the world to see the new Electric Green® GloFish® Angelfish on display! Reception was terrific, and everyone sounds excited to be able to get a second color of Angelfish into the tanks. Starfire Red® will be available again very soon, and we appreciate your patience and understanding on the delay on those.  The hurricanes really messed the supply on those up at the end of last year.

New in this week, we got some restocks on some much needed Central and Southies including Festae aka True Red Terrors. These are very small for now, maybe an inch, but as adults they are one of the most impressive Cichlids out there. Also got in some 5" Heckelii. This is one of the more docile Geo types that gets incredible streamers off its fins. 5" Red Devills also got a restock as well as a very limited number of 5" Green Terrors.

Couple really nice colors of shrimp available at the same time this week, so it's a great time to make a nice mixed shrimp tank.  The Yellow Fire are definitely the best, but the Red Crystal, the Blue Diamonds, and even what comes in the Deluxe Mix are all very good looking and all in stock.

On the opposite end of the size-spectrum from shrimp, we also got both Redtail and Tiger Shovelnose catfish in at the same time this week too.  Just in case you've got customers with a 20x10 foot pool they need to stock (or more realistically, a 75 gallon that they're going to inappropriately house these fish in until they die prematurely).  Red Tail Catfish get 5 feet long, and it's a good idea to remind your customers of that.

The Discus that came in this week are the best I've seen in months.  We brought in a larger size mix from Singapore that's absolutely beautiful.  They're 3-3.5 inches but they're listed as 2.5-3 inches on the list, and honestly they remind me of the old 4 inch Discus we used to get from Hong Kong 7 or 8 years ago that would always sell out instantly.  You need to buy these if you're a discus store at all.  We're selling them too cheap, I'm almost positive, so take advantage of it now.

Black Widow Frontosas have been here for a few weeks now and are already showing some growth and their pattern is coming in nicely. Their a bit pricier than the standard imports that you see but well worth the extra money and these are extremely popular with hobbyists.
Can't go more than a week without mentioning Balloon Rams. Main reason is because their one of the neatest little community fish you can get. The other reason is because it drives Brody nuts every time I put these in the email lol.
Blue Tiger Parrots came in about twice the size that they have been. Either way these sell really well regardless if you're like me and think they're an abomination.
Longfin Tiger Barbs are back in from Indo. I get asked all the time if they're gonna chew each other to pieces, but the funny thing is that their exaggerated fins actually slow them down to the point where they can't pick on anything.
Drapefin Barbs are in stock for the first time in ages. It's been over a year at least because we haven't gotten them in since I've been here but I certainly used to buy them when I was still a customer. Pic is pretty lousy so Google them and you'll see how neat these guys really are especially when they mature.
New Swordtail!  These are "Full Red Lyretail HiFin Swordtails".  Basically "Vampire" swords, honestly, but they're from a different supplier.  Color is a little bit darker and better on these than the vampires that are showing up right now.
Tiger Shovelnose are back in stock for the first time in a bit. At this size you'll want to make sure to keep a school of guppies or minnows on them as they have rapid metabolisms at a young age.
    Livebearers
    Pigeonblood Guppy
    Red Rose Guppy
    Redtail Crystal Platy
    Male XL Sword
    Female XL Sword
    Gold Dust Lyretail Molly
    Large Green Sailfin Molly

New Red Glass Barbs look fantastic. Size is decent but color is super bright. Plus there's a good male/female ratio in the mix.
    green tiger barb
Platinum Green tiger Barbs came in super nice. Much brighter body color on these with very dark fins making for a great contrast.
White Clouds are running about as big they ever do. Great time to stock up on a must have staple.
New Madagascar Rainbows are showing great color at a smaller size. Quite a few males in there showing off.
It's been a minute since I've mentioned Turquoise Rainbows because like a lot of Florida raised fish they were running a bit under sized for a minute. But now they're back to where they should be as one of the best looking fish here.
Red Honey Gouramis came in absolutely on fire again. This pic isn't enhanced, they really are that bright.
    Tetras
Gold Neon Tetras are a nice change from standard neons, and right now they're running HUGE.  I know it's hard to tell in the picture, but these are the same size as the Jumbo Florida Neons.
It's been a hot minute since Rosy Tetras were in stock.  These are very closely related to the "candy cane" tetras, but with slightly less color for a slightly less price.
It's getting to be that time of year again where the water temps are heating up and fish are starting to come in oversized and the Buenos Aires Tetras are no exception. This was always one of my favorite fish to recommend to beginners as these are practically indestructible.
Red Eyes continue to come in as imports as they were a casualty of Hurricane Milton. Size is still pretty good though and they hold up just as well as the Florida raised ones.
Bloodfins are back in stock for the first time in quite awhile but no idea for how long so stock up while you can.
    Cichlids
This is a pic of Brody's adult Festae aka True Red Terror Cichlids. We do NOT have these at this size but what we do have are juveniles from the same bloodlines. This one of the most stunning Cichlids there is. Female is on the left, male is on the right.
Still have a few Red Pikes available. This is a pic of them at Global in all their glory showing off their bright red coloration.
3" Carpintis are due in this afternoon so this isn't an exact representation of what we'll have in stock but this is a pic of this vendor's fish and they never disappoint. One of the nicest strains of this species produced.
3" Cuban Cichlids are available in fairly limited numbers this week. Mention these every time we get them but that's due to the fact that they're not as common as a lot of other Central/Southies but they also happen to be one of my personal favorites. If you're not familiar with them Google a pic of an adult. They're stunning.

Got in a handful of 5" Green terrors last night and they are fantastic. Wish we could get these more often as they always sell out almost immediately.
Medium EB Acaras are back in stock after a brief hiatus. Size is good and due to a miscommunication with the vendor we have plenty to go around so shouldn't have a problem filling these this week.
Large Mixed Angels continue to run big with a nice variety in the the assortment. These are a solid inch longer (wider?) than the mediums right now.
5" Heckelii are due in later today. Again this is a stock photo but this is pretty representative of what comes in from this vendor. At this size they're pretty much in full color with their streamers intact.
Regular sized venustus are oversized, almost mediums.  And we're putting them on special, so stock up.
Found this Albino Compressiceps in the Large Assorted Hap mix. Mentioned this a couple weeks ago but I think I'm going to turn this into it's own category each week as we keep finding gems like this guy each and every week.
Same as above as this guy was also found in the large Hap mix. At a glance I just thought it was a Compressiceps as well but after taking a closer look this actually a Strigatus. A far less common Compressiceps relative.
    Hidden Gems
Thought we were long gone but found 4 Altum Angels still in a vat in our Discus room. These have been here for a couple months and I haven't mentioned them since I thought they sold out long ago. Whoever grabs these first is going to have the most well acclimated Altums of all time. Let the bidding begin!
Same as above, thought these were long gone. And just like the Altums these guys have been here long enough to be well adjusted to hard water so these are going to hold up under any conditions. But again super limited, only 2 pieces left.
    Discus
This as well as the others pictured below are the Discus from one of our Singapore suppliers. If you haven't bought Discus from us before you may want to try a few. These are outstanding and extremely well priced.

    Plecos & Pals
Large Albino Bushynose are a little mixy in size but that's just because there are some huge honking males in there. If you're not stocking these you absolutely should be. They're a little pricey for a domestically raised pleco but they're one of the best bang for the buck plecos out there.
Green Cories came in a little small but super bright. Very nice emerald green on these.
Hifin Green Cories are a bit on the small size but that just makes their exaggerated finnage stand out all the more.
Didn't get Colombia this week so if you're needing Fourline Pims grab them now before we run out. These have been here for  a couple weeks and are looking really solid.
